Thanksgiving at Johnson's

Today was our family Thanksgiving at the Johnson's. Tim's family was there as was Terri, Travis and Ben. Mike's family came, but Lori's family couldn't make it for various reasons. We hope they'll be able to come next year. Marge cooked a delicious meal, as usual, and Terri brought rolls that Jon made. After dinner, Marge taught us how to make pretty night lights from safety pins and beads. Of course, we had the usual euchre game initiating the third generation (Jacob and Andrew). Makes you feel slightly old to see them be able to play!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving. Our children, their spouses, and the grandkids were here in the evening for dinner. This year we deep-fried our turkey in Pepa's newest toy. It took one hour and 3 minutes to cook an 18-pound bird. It was crispy on the outside and really moist on the inside. Hmmm, he may have a new job as a result of his handiwork. Mike and Jody and family go to her mother's for dinner about 1:00 PM, so they are not really too hungry, but make every effort to "stuff" a little more in. Jason and Jessica also have already eaten a meal before they get here, so they eat a little bit of dinner and wait for dessert to be served. After dinner, Mema, and Scott taught Andrew and Jason how to play Euchre. Andrew and Mema won the game, but Scott and Jason were close behind. We will be going to my brother Bob's house for the family Thanksgiving on Saturday. It's always a fun time to see that side of the family and maybe have a game of touch football, weather permitting.

We Are Thankful For......

This is our first blog for the Myers Clan. We'll try to update regularly or on a need-to-let-you- know-basis.

Since this is the week before Thanksgiving, we offer our thanks for all we have and especially for our families, friends, and loved ones.

We are thankful for our five grandchildren who helped us make doughnuts on Saturday. We had teams of boys versus girls because we made a double batch. Andrew and Jacob mixed the ingredients as did Jessica and Allie while Jason read the ingredients. Mema was the supervisor and finder of ingredients and measuring cups and spoons. When they were all mixed, she rolled out the doughnuts and everybody used the doughnut cutter to make doughnuts and holes, or as Allie called them "tim-bits". Guess she's been at Tim Horton's lately. Pepa helped make the cinnamon sugar and confectioner's sugar bags in which we placed the doughnuts. Some we just left plain. This has been something that we did with our kids and now with the grandkids. But some things never change. Mema and Pepa get to clean up the kitchen!
